After working for H.M. Land Registry, Notts County Council Planning Dept and Environmental Health, Mick commenced in Building Control in 1974 spending over 14 years as a senior surveyor with Nottingham City Council. He left briefly in 1989 to work for a large Architectural practice in Nottingham, returning to Building Control in 1992 for Newark and Sherwood District Council, eventually becoming Building Control Manager in 1998. Mick joined Turton Building Control in March 2007.
